Description
Two months ago I was videoed in the Historic District of Savannah, Georgia (USA) on a street where the house I was born in used to stand. For the video, I talked about what the loss meant in terms of historical erasure which could be applied to my life story and that of a quite a few African-African cultural creative artists from Savannah. However, in contrast to many today, I was at least able grow up in other locations within my hometown. Millions around the globe today would consider that a luxury.
The ongoing displacement of entire communities due to climate change and war stands among the difficult challenges facing young environmental and socially conscientious activists today. Ripple effects in the form of conflicts over immigration have been felt everywhere. Somehow, despite fear and uncertainty, what often wins the day are acts of courage and compassion. The young activists and advocates who are doing their best to help eliminate the kinds of destructive human activities which have led to one type of existential crisis after another are going to need as much of it as they can get.
At present, the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) estimates that more than 110 million people have been forced to flee their homes and take shelter wherever they could find it. London’s Institute for Economics and Peace estimates that approximately 1.2 billion people could be displaced by climate change over the next 30 years. So everybody’s work is cut out for them.
WE GROW WHEREVER LIFE PLANTS US is my tribute to planetary stewardship, to the struggling souls wandering the Earth, and to my own life’s journey up to this pivotal point. Utilizing Silk-Featherbrush Artstyle, abstract expressionism, and spiritual surrealism, combines several styles to make what I hope is one meaningful visual statement.

I've been blessed in my life to communicate with many spiritually-gifted people who have shared wonderful insights & inspiration with me. I used to write a column on spiritual traditions and often encouraged people to anchor themselves in a love-based faith to help make their way through life.
