Description
“It seems like everybody got the blues
But I had 'em a long time
I've really, really paid my dues”
--BB King and Dave Clark
The expressionistic palette for Park Bench Blues Hero Number 1 blends flowing waves of blue, red, magenta, yellow, green, and black. In terms of natural elements, the image is true to the representation of blossoming shrubs, flora, and trees that fill the downtown squares of Savannah. I like to think of the concrete visual combined with attempts to capture the musician’s intense emotional performance as musical surrealism.
STYLE AND INSPIRATION: I’ve had the good fortune of knowing quite a few musicians, and listening to different musicians in various public spaces is something I enjoy. This mixed media abstract painting was inspired by talented performers I’ve seen in the downtown historic district of Savannah, Georgia. Including Forsyth Park, Johnson Square, City Market, and River Street. The performance artists are especially good to check out on Georgia Day, Savannah Day, St. Patrick’s Day, and other festive holidays.

I just love the "kick back" feeling of this work. It is a fun picture! FL
Aberjhani replied:
Thanks tremendously Debby. I think that "kick back" vibe which several performers seem to have is what inspired me to attempt "Park Bench Blues Hero Number 1."

Appreciate that Aleksandrs. I was hoping viewers might experience the same sense of flowing musicality I do when listening to performances in public spaces.
