Artwork by Aberjhani along with books by him will be available for purchase as part of his participation in Local Author Day on March 24, 2024, in Lafayette Square in the city of Savannah, Georgia (USA). Much of the artwork on display for the event will reflect themes explored in his books on Savannah.
Black History Month, cited by political leaders as African-American History Month, first began as a week-long celebration founded by historian Carter G. Woodson back in 1926 during the Harlem Renaissance. The purpose was to correct myths and misconceptions about the history of people of African descent, and, to inspire self-respect and hopefulness among African-Americans at a time when they were legally classified as second-class citizens. This month-long celebration has helped initiate racial and social justice from the Harlem Renaissance and Civil Rights Movement in the past to the establishment of Hip Hop and the Black Lives Matter movement in the present day.
