Artist's Description
Angels and Dangers - Breaking the Gridlock of Hate Number 1 (Silk-Featherbrush Number 12)
The concept of minimalism in different creative art disciplines--be it literature, music, or visual--is one I've always admired but rarely attempted. "Angels and Dangers - Breaking the Gridlock of Hate Number 1" along with "The Continuum of Us - Breaking the Gridlock of Hate Number 2" is me combining certain features of the concept with Silk-Featherbrush style. With "Angels and Dangers" specificially, in the search for possibilities I stepped back from my preferred Chromatic Poetic palette and adopted a black and white canvas to depict what I view as an evolution of old fixed mindsets giving way to emerging new realities.
STORY BEHIND THE TITLES: The not-so-good news in 2018 that instances of hate crimes in America's 10 largest cities had increased for the fourth consecutive year was not the kind of thing that put smiles on people's faces. Violent attacks for the most part have...
About Aberjhani
I was born and raised in the southeastern United States, then spent many years, while pursuing my education and serving in the U.S. Air Force, traveling around America and the world. Much of story is told in recent book releases like Greeting Flannery OConnor at the Back Door of My Mind and Dreams of the Immortal City Savannah. Artwork by me is featured on the cover of both books. My last 4 public exhibits were at the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport Art Gallery in Savannah, Georgia, USA, and during a cultural arts event in the historic Lafayette Square in the same city. I am currently completing an artbook project on different challenge which humanity has been facing in the 2020s, with text contributions from writers around the world. My...

Thank you, Greta, for the very perceptive feedback on "Angels and Dangers - Breaking the Gridlock of Hate Number 1."

Love the choice of black and white, really highlights the individual spirits who are breaking away from the way things are to search for how things could be.

Thank you very much Shoal. I at first struggled against the idea of making the contrast so stark but the work kind of took over and had its own way.
Shoal Hollingsworth
I love the mood that black and white adds to this piece.

Thank you Angeles. After reading your comparison to the "lion's tooth" dandelion I had to look up the image & saw how this could have reminded you of one.
Angeles M Pomata
Gorgeous powerful creation, Aberjhani!! Love the softness of this piece. It reminds me of a wonderful flower, a kind of dandelion we called "lion's tooth". L/F

So much relevant symbolism, overload,I am overcome with the visual, and thoughts provoked.....and, somehow, for you to say 'hate' even here, so positively, affects me deeply.......the Angels will overcome ! Yes........f.v...... VIVA
