Description
“Varieties of angels, like varieties of love, are many.”
--(from SPLENDID LITERARIUM, A Treasury of Stories, Aphorisms, Poems, and Essays)
“Traveling with the Angel Number 6” is the second image from a special offline series project posted on FAA. The project got underway shortly after communities around the world began coping with the COVID-19 pandemic and economies starting shutting down to save as many lives as possible. There are presently 8 other canvases in the “Traveling with the Angel” series and 1 more, for a total of 10, is planned for the project, which I hope to debut in spring 2021.
NUMBER 6 CANVAS: The work seen here combines the color palettes of Haitian and African art employed by Harlem Renaissance painters like Lois Mailou Jones, along with the rich shades used by European artists such as Paul Gauguin. Hints of indigo, dark teal, orange, yellow, red, white, black, violet, and olive green suggest a scene repeated throughout history. In this specific instance, they are used to symbolize the kind of night-time dark river-crossings undertaken by immigrants to escape oppressive conditions in the current century and undertaken by American slaves to escape bondage in the 16th and 17th centuries.
GENERAL PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The offline project from which this work is taken explores through visual art and text the different kinds of alliances and adjustments people had to make in the year 2020 in order to cope with a threat greater than anything most of the present generations have ever seen. Pettiness had (and still has) to be set aside to make it through the pandemic.
For some, “Traveling with the Angel” has come to mean evoking the angels of our better human nature. For others, it means digging deeper and holding on tighter to personal spiritual or philosophical convictions. And for yet more still, it simply means identifying and grabbing every life-sustaining resource in sight.

I swear to see a beautiful soul in human-body who is on his knees and heading is head on ground like the way making prayers to the faith Gods of almighty Universe by being thankful for whatever he has with the grace of authentic lords! This is so very graciously lovely my friend! :)

Thank you Mitch for checking out & commenting on "Traveling with the Angel Number ." I was only supposed to post 1 or 2 of these images from a work in progress but the doom & gloom brought on by the pandemic prompted me to do more.
