Park Bench Hero Number 2 blends the old with the new by combining the classic scene of a park musician with the Color Institute’s 2023 Color of the Year: Viva Magenta. In obvious contrast to Park Bench Hero Number 1, the painting seen here balances a background dominated by magenta trees and shrubbery with the brighter yellow and orange clothing of the blues guitarist.
STYLE AND INSPIRATION: I’ve had the good fortune of knowing quite a few musicians, and listening to different musicians in various public spaces is something I enjoy. This mixed media abstract painting was inspired by talented performers I’ve seen in the downtown historic district of Savannah, Georgia.
