The first prints in My Adapting and Growing photography and fine art series were posted in October 2018. “Growing Where Life Puts Us” was the first in the collection and Growing Where Life Puts Us Number 2 is the 11th addition. The images in the series celebrate “life's capacity for sustaining and perpetuating itself under less-than-ideal conditions.”
This inspiring image was captured in a place I never would have expected to find it. Namely, along the cobble-stoned pathway behind the storefronts lining River Street in Savannah, GA (USA). Various ferns and types of grass were growing out the layers of red, white, pastel green, brown, and speckled black stones and bricks that form a wall. To look at them, you would it was impossible for them to survive, but there they were.

I was born and raised in the southeastern United States, then spent many years, while pursuing my education and serving in the U.S. Air Force, traveling around America and the world. Much of story is told in recent book releases like Greeting Flannery OConnor at the Back Door of My Mind and Dreams of the Immortal City Savannah.
