Artist's Description
This enlarged detail from “Flower Resting On A Park Bench In The Middle Of A War Zone” shows the pink and white blossom of a Magnolia tree nestled within the green leaves and golden-brown branches of the tree.
This description is from the product page for the original image, which shows the painting seen here positioned on a bench: “The slightly off-center painting resting diagonally on the bench is my rendering of a member of the Magnolia family of trees known as the Magnolia x soulangeana, or saucer magnolia. Unlike the huge white blossoms many people in the American south are accustomed to seeing on the more common variety of the Magnolia tree, the Saucer Magnolia produces saucer-shaped flowers shaded pink and white with large green oval leaves. Oriental, American, and European varieties are numerous. However, my sketch model for this specific image was found in Savannah, Georgia (USA).”
