Description
“One of the greatest triumphs of the human spirit is the ability to exercise gratitude in the face of grievous adversity. Cultivation of a sense of gratitude under any conditions is advantageous in general because it tames impulses toward delusion-inducing arrogance, soul-numbing indifference, and corruptive malice.” – (from the essay On Gratitude and the Poets Who Re-Empowered My Pen by Aberjhani)
A lot of positive changes are taking place as we prepare to say farewell to the year 2020 and welcome the New Year 2021. It is true we are still dealing with some painful hardships but also true that we can take some satisfaction in what has been accomplished thus far. Bearing that in mind, “Early Morning Reflections of a Grateful Heart” is presented as an abstract sunrise with light absorbing shadows and indigo storm clouds of angst from within and without. The word ‘absorbing’ is used intentionally here because even though darkness is often associated with fear and suffering, it helps give definition to the streaming rays of yellow, gold, cerulean blue, tinted whites, red, pink, and green.
The title of this work was obviously influenced partly by Thanksgiving Day celebrations. Use of phrase “Early Morning,” however, is a tribute to my late friend Luther E. Vann, with whom I published the art and poetry book, ELEMENTAL, the Power of Illuminated Love. His chosen name as a creative spiritual being was Early Morning Light and if he were still alive he would have been turning 83 in December.

A reflection of self can be seen better while mediating on soul's mission of life than just seeing in mirror! This is as rhythmic as any soulful love song for the love of the life, a part where nothing can be hidden and nor have to hide! It is so beautiful my friend! :)

Much gratitude for that Angeles. This is one of those pieces which demanded extra effort but as the title says I'm grateful for the results.
