Product Details

Our luxuriously soft beach towels are made from brushed microfiber with a 100% cotton back for extra absorption.   The top of the towel has the image printed on it, and the back is white cotton.   Our beach towels are available in two different sizes: beach towel (32" x 64") and beach sheet (37" x 74").

Don't let the fancy name confuse you... a beach sheet is just a large beach towel.

Artist's Description

Have you ever checked out Sandro Botticelli's classic 1484 painting, "Birth of Venus," with the ancient Roman goddess of love standing newly-born upon a beautiful giant clamshell floating on lovely waves toward a clean shoreline? It becomes hard when looking at it to imagine we would find ourselves embroiled in the kind of environmental challenges we're facing in 2019. Botticelli’s "Birth of Venus," and other classic depictions of nature and mythology, for our contemporary minds reinforces the idea that something close to a natural paradise on Earth is not completely impossible. My 'Clamshell without Venus' is intended as a different kind of visual commentary.

The ornamental clamp reminded me of Botticelli’s clamshell but no, I did not imagine myself as Venus. The goal I set was to create an abstract interpretation of how today's environmental issues would challenge the cre...

About Aberjhani

Aberjhani

I was born and raised in the southeastern United States, then spent many years, while pursuing my education and serving in the U.S. Air Force, traveling around America and the world. Much of story is told in recent book releases like Greeting Flannery OConnor at the Back Door of My Mind and Dreams of the Immortal City Savannah. Artwork by me is featured on the cover of both books. My last 4 public exhibits were at the Savannah/Hilton Head Airport Art Gallery in Savannah, Georgia, USA, and during a cultural arts event in the historic Lafayette Square in the same city. I am currently completing an artbook project on different challenge which humanity has been facing in the 2020s, with text contributions from writers around the world. My...
