Even I am the fan of Nobel man King Martin Luther keeping the humankind safe from anything possible while raising voice against inequality of any kind, as the oxygen reaches to all without failure and discrimination, and besides whose carbon-dioxide is converting to oxygen whose breathing whose can never be an issue emotionally or technically or in anyway that unites all already like gravitational force, and similar! Such brilliant creation my friend! Be happily blessed always! :)

Aberjhani replied:

Thank you so very much Tejsweena. And may You be happily blessed always also!

Artist's Description

“Blackness as Taught by My Father” is a mixed media painting which incorporates texts from 3 poems, signs carried by protesters around the world in the year 2020, and a digital monochrome painting of Martin Luther King Jr. addressing social justice advocates during the 1960s Civil Rights Movement. This was a historical moment when engaged citizenship changed the world for the better. It is easy to see why this social justice/social activism artwork is particularly suitable for classroom discussions on race and diversity. It also makes good wall art for homes, offices, and dorm rooms. Below are the 3 poetry quotes used in the painting:

“I know blackness as taught by my father:
‘You are my joy and my genius,’ he often said.
I know blackness as taught by my mother:
‘Your smile is my robe of honor, your peace my earned grace.’”
--from the poem EVERY HOUR HENCEFORTH (published in Visions of a Skylark Dressed in Black)
