LOUISIANA HERON 2022
This is the third canvas in the “Birds of a Bronzed Audubon Feather” series and titled: Birds of a Bronzed Audubon Feather Number 3: Louisiana Heron 2022. John James Audubon’s original hand-drawn capture of the Louisiana heron in 1834 is such an outstanding depiction that I hesitated when deciding the best way to include it. The heron itself inspired me to accept the challenge by surrounding my bronze and sepia interpretation of it with a Silk-Featherbrush Artstyle background using some of the bird’s original natural colors. The speckled bronze base with curving interior shadow completed the tribute canvas.

Bird lovers and environmentalists around the world hold the name John James Audubon (1785-1851) in high esteem. When we look at the treasured body of his work, including numerous paintings and drawings of birds found in America, it’s easy to see why. About Aberjhani
I was born and raised in the southeastern United States, then spent many years, while pursuing my education and serving in the U.S. Air Force, traveling around America and the world.
