“I definitely want to paint a starry sky now. It often seems to me that the night is even more richly coloured than the day, coloured in the most intense violets, blues and greens. If you look carefully you'll see that some stars are lemony, others have a pink, green, forget-me-not blue glow.” (Letter from Vincent Van Gogh to his sister Willemien Van Gogh)
What is it about Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890) that captures the hearts of creative artists all over the world? I think it must have something to do with the depth of his determination to document something definitively transcendent in his art and life. I have found myself reflecting on his story repeatedly over the past 2 years and as a result produced several works inspired by him. “Another Starry Starry Vincent Van Gogh Social Distance Night Number 1” is my humble 2020 homage to his classic paintings: “The Starry Night Over the Rhone” (1888) and “Starry Starry Night” (1889).

About Aberjhani
After being born and raised in the southeastern United States, I spent many years, while pursuing my education and serving in the U.S. Air Force, traveling around America and the world.
