Little did I know when I began taking photographs of cardinals on a rainy day in the fall of 2017 that the images would inspire the creation of diverse canvases filled with amazing imagery and meanings. Thus far the artworks derived from them have resulted in striking visual commentaries on such subjects as family values and the California wildfires of 2018. Most significantly might be their ability to evoke a sense of beauty standing its ground in the face of horror.
