Artwork by Aberjhani along with books by him will be available for purchase as part of his participation in Local Author Day on March 24, 2024, in Lafayette Square in the city of Savannah, Georgia (USA). Much of the artwork on display for the event will reflect themes explored in his books on Savannah.
The artwork in this gallery represents an acknowledgment of those people in Savannah, Georgia (USA), from a succession of mayors to many concerned citizens, who have been confronting the issue of changing the name of the Eugene Talmadge Memorial Bridge for decades because of its association with apartheid policies. The struggle represents as much a humanitarian crisis of conscience as it does one of survival. But it also, for the moment, says a lot about modern attempts to make communities stronger based on peoples' shared humanity as opposed to past strategies which weakened them exploiting fears based on perceived threats stemming from external differences. --Aberjhani
